I have just updated the calendar with classes through the end of December.  We have included some new and some traditional offerings.  There are samples in the shop and they will soon be up in the Photo Gallery of the website soon.  Call if you have any questions about offerings or things you would like to learn.

Fall Classes

We are offering many special classes this fall!

It is not too late to make the Eleanor Burns newest Day and Night quilt with Michelle.  Come see the sample and you won’t be able to resist making this attractive quilt.  3 classes for $45.

Sunday Sept. 20th marks the first meeting of our Underground Rail Road class.  The project will feature the making of one block every month with conversations and readings about their meaning.  We are even entertaining a field trip for participant who wish a greater experience.  Sandy has samples of both the 6″ and 12″ versions at the shop.  Participants can join at any time and make as many blocks as they wish, there are 15 in all.  $15 per class.

Beginner classes are always available, just call and schedule a time.  You don’t need to have ever sewn a stitch to become a quilter!

Ann is starting an art quilting group.  Call or come by to discuss how you can join in this very exciting and gratifying  new foofsique project.  The project will include many of the newest quilting techniques.

Meet us at the Fair (Columbia County fair that is)

Always over Labor Day, Sept. 2-7

foofsique will have an extra large corner booth at the fair for the first time this year.  We plan to feature several of the newest models of Janome sewing machines, sample quilts for sale, kits, fat quarter bundles, strips for easy quilting, books and patterns and more.  Come by and say hello!

X-MAS in July (Sat. & Sun. July 18 & 19)

Join us for the 4th anual Christmas in July. Canaan Fire House from 10am to 4pm each day. Two choices now available: $125 gets both days and a $100 gift certificate to purchase supplies needed or $35 for two days without the gift certificate. All participants are asked to bring a covered dish to share. Questions? Come by or call……..

JANOME needles

Janome needles should be used on all Janome sewing machines. They are the exact right length for the machine while all others are slightly long and will damage machine over time. We have seen this several times and want to help avoid this problem for our customers. We carry the needles you need!

We had a wonderful shop hop.  Four days of visits from old and new friends, good food, and lots of quilt talk and exchange of ideas.  We at foofsique want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your positive feedback and kind words.  It means a lot for us to know that we are doing the right thing.  Come by and see us again, Sandy, Anne and all of our wonderful volunteers.

Check it Out!

Check out our upcoming schedule!  We have a wonerful variety of classes available for you.  There will be a series of bag classes for the bag ladies out there, Eleanor Burns newest quilt is already on display.  It is called day and night, looks complicated but is really very simple.  There is our Xmas in July followed by our monthey Christmas Club.  There will be an Underground Rail Road class for those who have  never made one or for the many who have expressed an interest in making another.  Kids classes will soon be posted for the summer including a full size bed quilt.

We are teaching Men, Women, and children all the time so don’t be shy, come in and visit us.

After 4 years in business we have noticed a trend. Business on certain holidays is slow enough to warrent us closing and having a day off ourselves. Mothers Day and Fathers Day are two such days, soooo we will be closed to celebrate with our loved ones on both of these days.

Round Robin

Yesterday began our first “Round Robin” experience. Kate Mitchell led the 24 participants through its first meeting. We will meet once a month for the next 5 months until all the quilts are done.
