2010 Block of the Month

It’s gorgeous! the Timeless Treasure’s “Back to Nature” block of the month is gorgeous. The first month is ready to be picked up by those who have signed up and there still may be one or two kits available for a late comer or two who wants a chance to make this king size quilt. The cost is $25 a month and if you pay up front you get a free batting for the quilt when done.

Superbowl Sunday, Feb.7, has proven to be another greatly popular event. We have more friends signed up for this than any other event we have ever had. This year the shop is providing the food and we are asking everyone to bring a non perishable food item for the Canaan food pantry. Thanks to everyone who is joining us at the Canaan fire house form 10-4 on Feb. 7.

Holiday Schedule

Because we all want to be with our families for the holiday we have decided to be closed on the weekend following both Christmas and New Years.
We will be open on 12/22, 23, and on the 24 from 10-2 for last minute gifts and finishing supplies. We will be open again on the 29, 30, for kids classes and on the 31 from 10-2. We will then close and reopen for the new year on Tuesday January 5th. If you are completely confused by now see our calendar of events and hopefully it will be more clear. We love all of you and are grateful for your friendship and loyalty and wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Sandy

The pattern and jelly roll make 3 beautiful quilts with the newest Eleanor Burns pattern, all you will need is a little border or background material. Come see the samples.

I have just updated the calendar with classes through the end of December.  We have included some new and some traditional offerings.  There are samples in the shop and they will soon be up in the Photo Gallery of the website soon.  Call if you have any questions about offerings or things you would like to learn.

Fall Classes

We are offering many special classes this fall!

It is not too late to make the Eleanor Burns newest Day and Night quilt with Michelle.  Come see the sample and you won’t be able to resist making this attractive quilt.  3 classes for $45.

Sunday Sept. 20th marks the first meeting of our Underground Rail Road class.  The project will feature the making of one block every month with conversations and readings about their meaning.  We are even entertaining a field trip for participant who wish a greater experience.  Sandy has samples of both the 6″ and 12″ versions at the shop.  Participants can join at any time and make as many blocks as they wish, there are 15 in all.  $15 per class.

Beginner classes are always available, just call and schedule a time.  You don’t need to have ever sewn a stitch to become a quilter!

Ann is starting an art quilting group.  Call or come by to discuss how you can join in this very exciting and gratifying  new foofsique project.  The project will include many of the newest quilting techniques.

Meet us at the Fair (Columbia County fair that is)

Always over Labor Day, Sept. 2-7

foofsique will have an extra large corner booth at the fair for the first time this year.  We plan to feature several of the newest models of Janome sewing machines, sample quilts for sale, kits, fat quarter bundles, strips for easy quilting, books and patterns and more.  Come by and say hello!

X-MAS in July (Sat. & Sun. July 18 & 19)

Join us for the 4th anual Christmas in July. Canaan Fire House from 10am to 4pm each day. Two choices now available: $125 gets both days and a $100 gift certificate to purchase supplies needed or $35 for two days without the gift certificate. JANOME needles

Janome needles should be used on all Janome sewing machines. They are the exact right length for the machine while all others are slightly long and will damage machine over time. We have seen this several times and want to help avoid this problem for our customers. We carry the needles you need!
